Could Itching In The Body Be Due To A Diuretic Intake?

Question: My husband has had 3 strokes and for the past 3 months has had a all over the body itch. He takes 13 prescriptions a day plus 8 over the counter drugs. These medications have been given to him from his first 2 strokes in 2013 and a 3rd stroke in 2017. No itching until March of 2018, We have been to a dermatologist who gave him hydrocortisone cream which helps for a one hour application. We went to an allergist and he said his symptoms don’t seem to be the result of an allergy. The MD we see said to take him off his diuretic, “furosemide” & that helped but didn’t get rid of his itch. I think it is systemic but what medication is the culprit. Can you help? Marian
