I am Rajesh and i am raising this query on Behalf of my Brothers kids (Twins). They both got Chicken box 20 days ago and now the chicken pox has got cured, however they seems to behave very cranky and unable to control them. They live in and the Dr has not suggested any Medicines for Chicken Pox, However Dr has suggested to use Neem Leaves to maintain the Body temperature and to control the spread of Pox Germs.
Could this Cranky / Notorious / Hyper behaviors be the out come of Chicken Pox.
Requesting you to please suggest a Medicine that would control they Behavour.
Name of the Kids: Monish &

Piracetam could be given

Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.
I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Chicken pox is a multisystem disease and has a number of complications and brain involvement is one of them. Your treating physician could determine whether that there was any such possibility. It is possible that the crankiness is due to partial involvement of the brain, or could be simply due to the general lack of well being that may follow any illness. The situation needs to be determined and that requires a close observation.
Syrup Nootropil (Piracetam) 2.5 ml twice daily for a month or two could be helpful in reducing this crankiness but it is best for your treating pediatrician to determine whether that is needed.

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer.
Due to Covid-19 OutBreak and the restrictions in the hospitals, my brother is not getting appointments for the same. I have already informed my Brother to check if Doctor can accept for a phone call.
Should this Syrup be taken before or after food.
Thanks and Regards

Give after food
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. This syrup is usually given after food but it would be ok if sometimes you need to give before food.
