                                            Question : Hi doctor,
I had a boil on the roof of my mouth 8-9 months back. the boil healed but i have this red bump which is still there since a few months. it is not painful or anything and there is no pus or such. This bump did shrink a bit since the past few months but is still not fully gone. Looks like some scar tissue.
I didnt use any medication just used mouthwash n salt water gargles now and then.
Could you please recommend some ointment to help heal this tissue? and does it take long to heal scars on the roof of the mouth? or me eating hard bread and such is causing it to heal slowly? I have attached an image of the mouth. its a small pinkish bump.

                                    Brief Answer:
Usually ointments don't work.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I see the photo you attached and there is a small pinkish bump on the roof of your mouth. It is probably composed by fibrotic tissue or possibly a raining cyst filled with mucous.
I think there is no ointment or medications which can work to reduce or remove it.
Doing gargling with salted water can help. Also you can use lemon to help it shrink.
If you want to remove it imediately you can go to stomatologist to remove it surgically.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

                                    Hi doctor,
thank you for the response. It is okay if it is not removed and I continue gargling? it ll take its own time and go / stay there ? there will be no issues due to it right?
