Question : Saw a urologist a few weeks ago due to a constant feeling of a need to urinate but bladder is empty. The urge feeling is always there and extremely uncomfortable. There was an infection but cleared up and is now gone but this urgency feeling will not let up. Doctor thinks it is cystitis and prescribed both vesicare and ditropan. Tried both off and on for several weeks and absolutely no change in symptoms. Could u recommend any home remedies, topicals, anything at all that may alleviate this constant niggling feeling in bladder to void when nothing is in there? Thank u so much.

Thanks for your query
The constant feeling to urinate repeatedly in females at this age is due to two reasons.
1) Over Active Bladder Syndrome (OAB)
2) Senile Urethral Stenosis.

Start taking Tab Combination of Merabegrone 25 mg and Solufenacin 5mg Twice daily .
It takes one week to observe the relief from symptoms and you have to take medication for 3 months.If problem persists it could be due to second reason (Urethral Stenosis.)

As regards Senile Urethral Stenosis you need to discuss the issue with your Urologist It needs to be treated with Urethral Calibration to be followed by self urethral dilation.

Thank you, doctor. Excellent information. One follow up question. With the urgency symptoms, I also have uric acid stones in both kidneys. Could that be a contributing factor and also, both those meds u gave me are safe to take with the stones?

You can safely take this medicine though you have Uric acid stones.

Take medication to lower down Uric Acid levels in blood after getting blood tests done .
