Question : Dear Doctor, my 5 and half year old beagle is suffering from skin infection for several months. Doctor had prescribed intraconazole 100 mg. Yesterday night I administered the first dose. Although he never poos at night and also in the rooms, he had done so late last night/ early morning. I found him sitting quietly at one place which he does whenever he is unwell. He has not eaten anything this morning. On advice he has been given Pan 20 tab. Since morning he is shivering very frequently. His physician is advising to give Betnesol oral drop. Please suggest whether to give or not. I am sure he is unwell due to the effect of Intraconazole. Recent blood report shows Alkaline phosphate count is 825.

                                    Brief Answer:
Betnesol drop can be given
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and it could be an allergic reaction to itraconazole.
Betnesol is an anti allergic drug which can be given. You can give it for a one day.
If the pet doesn’t show much improvement in a day consult the doctor and get him examined again.
