Question : Dear Dr,
My aunt aged 42 yrs had operated Obstructive defecation syndrome (Stapler trans anal resection) in 2014. she is fine now but want to know whether she will be fine in future and whether she will face the same problem again.

The result of operation are usually satisfactory.Nearly 90% of the patients remains fine at 4 years.So chances of recurrence are low.
Diet plays a important factor-
Fiber diet, plenty of water and bulking laxatives should be used foods which increase stool viscosity thus making more difficult stool expulsion “in one shot” should be avoided.
