Brief Answer:
This happens due to premature birth or low birth weight sir

Detailed Answer:
hello thank you for your question . the baby has retinopathy of prematurity sir in which new and bnormal
blood vessels are formed due to premature birth in a baby as the eye is not fully developed in a preterm baby . The treatment meted out in form of laser to regresses those abnormal blood vessels has been done and is very correct . As mentioned by the treating doctor the eye is now fully developed and there are no new blood vessels, so there is no need of further intervention . Still i would advise you to get once yearly eye check up to see if everything is okay . but once the eye is fully developed and all new blood vessels have regressed, the chance of retinal problem coming back again is very very less . If you have any follow up queries i would be happy to answer the same. hope my answer helps you .
