Question: Dear Sir , please guide us about prognosis , complications of the disease & interpretation of attached reports & papers (medical history 2 D echo dated 04/05/2020 shows patent foramen ovale (PFO)/ Atrial septal defect (ASD) with 2 D echo 22/08/2020 shows patent foramen ovale (PFO) with Bilateral hip unstable )

Hello

Pfo is patent foramen ovale which is normal before birth but should get closed after birth.

Small pfo that persists after birth don’t cause any significant health issues or complications in majority of the individuals but can cause migraines and CVA in some patients.

Usually the prognosis is excellent for such individuals but if some complications arises then closure by catheterisation is done.
