Question : Dear sir, Long back I had done oral sex with a sex worker.Recently I went for a throat swab culture test.The test result is ""Gram stained smear shows plenty of shedded squamous epithelial cells and occasional pus cells.Mixed oral bacterial flora seen.""What does it indicates?Which specialist doctor I have to consult?

Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have reviewed your query and noted your concern.

This is a completely normal report. Oral mucosa has lot of commensal bacteria including anaerobes. How long back did that oral sex incident happen? Do you have any symptoms? Oral sex does carry a risk of transmission of Herpes Simplex virus, throat Gonorrhea and Chlamydia, Syphilis. Though HIV has a negligible risk of transmission through oral sex.
