Question : i am a 25 yr old girl, i have developed boils filled with pus in my underarms 4 days back, it was very painful and about 9-10 of pea sized boils filled with white pus . the day before i had used a razor on my under arm .. and it happend only in on left underarm. i took a tablet of augmentin 375 and next day morning the boils oozed out itself removing pus and started healing slowly . but because of just taking 1 augmentin 375 i got drug induced diarrhea so i stoped. i would like to know is it a staph bacteria or mrsa. do i have to take full course of antibiotic 5 days . is this infection XXXXXXX .

Thanks for posting your query.
It seems that you had folliculitis in your underarm. Since the infection has been well controlled with a single dose of augmentin, there is no need to worry.
Such superficial infections are commonly caused by staphylococci. Now that you are symptomatically better there is no need to worry or take a full course of antibiotic. The exact causative organism can only be detected after a culture sensitivity testing.
