Question: My husband has creatinine 3.2 and BUN 45, up from 2.3 and 32. He recentlt had a benign tumor removed. Could the surgery have thrown his numbers off or is he at risk of renal failure. He is diabetic and has kidney disease

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

He already was in kidney failure before – his creatinine was 2.3
The most common cause of kidney impairment is Diabetes...
He also has kidney disease before...
Stress of surgery and anaesthesia might have worsened it - might be expected to improve as it is over.
He needs to be followed up by a Nephrologist

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
