Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts and reports that you have posted it appears that you have undergone TURP for enlarged Prostate in April 2014.and now has obstructed voiding urinary symptoms with nocturia.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) How is your urine flow ?Is it weak or normal ?
2) Do you have to strain to pass urine ?
3) Are you diabetic?

The symptoms that you have are mostly due to narrowing of urethral passage (Stricture Urethra) which is very common after TURP and is due to instrumentation .

The test suggested (RGU and MCU)by your Urologist are to confirm the diagnosis of Stricture Urethra.

Please go ahead nad get these tests done .

Further treatment will be decided by your Urologist depending on the results of these tests .If found to have stricture urethra you will need to undergo endoscopic procedure to incise the stricture (Optical Urethrotomy). This will help to widen the narrowed urethra and to relieve your symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Thank You Dr. XXXXXXX

1) Urine flow is medium/normal not weak.
2) Little strain required to pass urine.
3) I am not a diabetic.

Questions:
1) Are RGU/MCU and Urodynamics tests painful or has side effects?
2) Is Endoscopic procedure to incise the stricture (Optical Urethrotomy) to cure narrowing of urethral passage a complicated procedure? What are the chances of full recovery? What would be the impact post the procedure and effects of leading a normal life?
3) Do you suggest me to take a second opinion from another urologist before undergoing the above procedure?

Hello
Thanks for feedback.
Answer to your queries are
1) RGU/MCU and Urodynamic studies are not painful however slight pain is bound to be there.(Scale 2 out of 10) but are mandatory to conclude diagnosis.
2)Optical Urethrotomy is a simple procedure and gives very good results provided stricture is flimsy .You can have normal life post procedure.
3) You can take second opinion from one more Urologist .This will help to allay your anxiety.
Thanks and Regards.
