Question : My adult daughter is schitzoaffective. The doctor changed/added some of her medication today. The additions are Divalproes ER 500 mg 3 tablets at bedtime; benztropine l mg 2 times a day; haloperidol 10 mg 2 times a day.
I suddenly am not sure if I was to discontinue escitalopram 1 every AM or the Trazodone 50 mg tablet 1 or 2 tablets at night. Is there any interaction with the Escitalopram and/or Trazodone with the new prescriptions? Thank you very much.

Brief Answer:
No there is no interaction
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.
The earlier prescription can be used along with current prescription and there are no contraindications.
Having said this I feel the prescription contains medications which are probably not essential in some situations. I request you to feel me the current symptoms of your daughter as schizoaffective have two types and in one type (manic) there is no role of escitalopram.
I hope this answers you.
Thanks and regards.
