Question : Hi, I have a chemotherapy for lung cancer scheduled two days from now. My creatinine level tested today is 90 (normal range is 44-80 umo/L). I do not have kidney problems. My creatinine level tested in XXXXXXX 2025 is normal, and was always normal. I do not know why my creatinine level is high this time. I have taken Ensure/Compleat for the past week. Perhaps, this is why, and probably, I drank less water in the past week.
The drugs used are Pemetrexed and Carboplatin. And I need to take Nexium and Dexamethasone before chemotherapy. Do I need to postpone chemotherapy? Or can I still proceed but with dosage adjustment?

Brief Answer:
You can go ahead with chemotherapy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .You are scheduled for Chemotherapy next week for Cancer of Lung and your blood test has revealed your Sr Creatinine level to be 90 which is slightly higher than normal .In absence of any active kidney disease this could be due too either laboratory error or dehydration .
There is no harm in going ahead with chemotherapy .If you are curious, can repeat blood test after adequate hydration ..
Thanks and Regards
