Do Prozac, Welbutrin And Loratadine Cause False Positive Result For Benzodiazepines?

Question: My son came up positive for benzos yesterday through a urine test at his rehab facility. He swears he did not take any and I believe him. He even asked to have the urine sent out for a more detailed test. They said no and immediately discharged him. Since then, I have been told by sister whi is a RN that false positives are not uncommon when you have alot of other meds in yolur system. He is currently taking suboxen, prozac, welbutrin, and loratadine(claritan) for allergyand a multivitamin. Please tell us if any of these components could cause a false positive. He did not take benzos. thank you
Brief Answer:
None of the listed drugs are responsible for "false positive" tests
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma'am, Hi
Good morning!
I appreciate your concern for your beloved son's urine drug screening test.
After having searched the documentary evidence for the possible interaction between those medicines your son has been taking at present and the benzodiazepine screening test, I could not find any "false positive" test or reaction between the listed medicines and benzodiazipine.
He may need a more sensitive and specific tests to rule out the possibility of "false positive" reaction.
Hope to have answered your query.
Best regards.
