Question : Wow, I was just wondering a day or so ago, if there was anyplace I could find a Dr to answer questions. Thank you!!!
I have hashimoto's and the only thing I think i feel from it is that I am exhausted so often now. I just turned 65 and starting out with zero income, I built an very successful career in sales and raised 3 kids by myself. I've bought 4 houses by myself and moved 8 times in the last 30 years. I've been the only grandma playing on the playground with kids and I love to garden.
Then in the last couple of years that has all changed.
I have been through dozens of websites that tell me to eat no gluten, no dairy, no sugar, tomatoes, eggs, potatoes, spinach, brocoli, cashews, pecans, etc, etc, etc and even if I could eliminate all of my favorite foods, which I can't, I still feel no different than 4 years ago when I was diagnosed with thyroid. I didn't feel any different when I used armour thyroid or synthroid.
Then I had more tests done that usually aren't used in thyroid tests and found out I had Hashimotos.
I am so frustrated and SO tired of being tired.
HELP

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You tried natural and synthetic thyroxine, but I can't tell how long you were on it. It can take a few months (typically 3 months on it) to feel better.
After you take the Synthroid or other preparations of thyroxine for 2-3 months, your doctor should recheck your TSH and adjust the dose accordingly. Has this been done?
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
