Question : I was in a go kart earlier today and hit my right side. It was painful immediately and now it is painful to the touch, painful to breathe deeply and to move around. My abdomen is also swollen. Could it cause any type of internal bleeding or rupture? ...or is it like to just be swollen from possibly fracturing a rib?
Brief Answer:
Possible blunt injury chest and/or abdomen
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
As per your symptoms, the possibility of a blunt abdominal and chest trauma is high.
It's advisable to consider a chest x-ray and ultrasound abdomen to rule out internal organ injury.
Hope I have answered your query.
