Do Blood And Protein Levels In The Urine Indicate An UTI?

Question: Hello,
My urine test results are attached.
I have a bad burning sensation and I feel urgency after urinating. I was prescribed antibiotics.
Could the blood and protein in urine be due to UTI? How should I flow up?

Hello
Thanks for query.

Presence of Blood and protein, leukocytes strongly suggest UTI in urine and need to be treated with an appropriate antibiotic as per culture report.

Please get your urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

You may need to Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like
Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily. Later on, switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

please get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water to keep urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
