My 18 month old has aready got four doses
Of rabies vaccine following a non bite exposure.. a dog was sniffing at her in the park and I got her vaccinated. My mother fed a stray cat and the glass in which she carried milk and poured into the cats bowl was placed on table which my daughter picked up and licked. My mom is sure that the glass didnt touch the cats bowl.. but me being a paranoid mom worried about the repurcussions if the glass had touched the cats bowl or while pouring some of the droplets have spilled and touched the glass.. in both cases are boosetet vaccines recommended.. it has been six months since she recieved the rabies vaccine.. should i wait for 10 days to see if the cat is alive and then put booster vaccine.. how long will the rabies virus survive outside host.. my daughter sipped from the glass ( the glass surface was dry) exactly after an hour of pouring the milk in cats bowl.. would the virus be inactive by then
No need for rabies booster doses
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You need not vaccinate the kid for this with booster vaccines, please. No need to wait for 10 days.
This virus does not survive well outside its host (in dried blood and secretions) as it is susceptible to sunlight and desiccation.
The virus would not survive for one hour, please.

One last question.. If i touch a
Stray dog and without washing hands, i touch my eyes or mouth, is there a possibility for transimission of rabies virus if the dog was rabid?
Nothing will happen don't worry
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
No, only salivary secretions of a rabid dog will cause its such transmission. By just touching a dog nothing will happen.
