Posted on Fri, 24 Aug 2018
Question: I'm a 53 year old male and with diabetes type 2. I weigh 238lbs. my height 5'11". Last February 3rd they found microscopic hematuria in my urine without a uti. They sent me to a urologist. They performed another UA, CT Scan of my abdominal and pelvic area, rectal exam, and a cystoscopy. The findings of the CT Scan were : the visualized lung bases are unremarkable. There is no urolithiasis or urinary tract obstructions unilaterally. No focal renal lesions. The calyces are delicately cupped. There is no urothelial thickening. No filling defects of the opacified portions of the urinary tract. The urinary bladder well distended and otherwise unremarkable. Hepatic steatosis. Cholelithiasis. No focal liver lesions. spleen, pancreas and adrenal glands are unremarkable. The bowel loops are nondialated. No free fluid. A normal caliber appendix is noted incidently. A circumaortic left vein a normal anatomic variant is incidentally identified. There are no enlarged lymph nodes. There is no destructive osseous lesions. My PSA level was 2. cystoscopy findings: The flexible cystoscope was passed without difficulty. The anterior ureatha is normal. The prostrate reveals moderate lateral lobe hypertrophy. The bladder was thoroughly inspected and the orifices of the ureter were visualized. Clear urine was seen exiting the orifices. The were no bladder mucosal lesions. The bladder had normal appearing tissue. In retroflexed view, the bladder neck was normal. No obvious papillary tumors, erytgeImatous lesions, stones, or diverticulae were seen. Now since that time I've passed out a few times. They done blood work, 2 CT Scan of my head, 3 chest xrays, and they say everything is normal except I might have a fatty liver and gallston mooes. They are now treating me for healthy anxiety, GAD, and Depression with effexor ER. Now here's my questions. 1. Do you think they've dbbqone enough to rule out the possibility of anything serious and it's all in my head as they think? I'm constantly running to my doctors. 2. I also have two binguinal hernias. Do you think they could make me feel bloated and have back pain? Sorry this is so long. Just wanted to make sure you got a good history. A ny help is appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Enough work by doctors.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It is great that you gave detailed history and it was easy to answer your query .
Please see that hepatic steatosis also called fatty liver and cholelithiasis gall stones are the reason for bloated abdomen .
Secondly inguinal hernia are known to cause dragging sensation in lower abdomen and lower back .
Third as your CT head and all other tests are normal i think that your doctors have done enough work up .
Now take medications as prescribed by them and keep bp ..sugar and lipid profile under control .
Avoid smoking and alcohal besides maintaining proper weight .
Please wait for some weeks you will get results .
I will suggest a repear ultrasound abdomen after 3 months to check the prostate status .
All other tests are normal and i assume haematuria was due to prostate .
If you have any further query then you can come back to hcm i will definitely help you and guide you appropriately .
If you are satisfied with my answer then close the thread after giving favorable comments and mark my answer satisfactory .
