Question: I need to consult a gastroenterologist

I feel very bad. I started about a month ago for the third time in a year with the following symtoms: heartburn, no pain, no acid reflux that I notice but I have a strange mouth taste, gases and burping, a big disconfort and guess in my esophagus, I feel like something trembling inside. I have suffered bad breath for several years. I consulted my internist that I have seen for about 15 years and she said there was really nothing to be done. I feel that I have a mild fever for about 1 hour around 7 pm. I have not been able to read it because I am always driving at that time. I noticed in increase in gases about a year ago. I had the same symtoms in August 2016 I tought it was a heart attack and went to the emergency room. They discharge me without a diagnosis. I took nexium then for 14 days and change my diet. It worked for about 6 months. Then I had the same syntoms again. I took the nexium again and was fine. Since September 19 I started with the symtoms and nexium did not help. I change my diet immediately, no coffe, no spice food, etc. This time it did not work, a friend told me to take zantac today, I feel better but I know it is not a permanent situation. I will see a gastro on November 15, I could not get an appointment before. I really need your help

Hi,
I read caregully all your concerns and I can say as follows:
1. First of all your symptons seems to be related with gastritis /gastric ulcer and Gerd(acide reflux)
2. You need to be evaluated with:
- abdominal ultrasound
- upper endoscopy
3. Meantime you should use nexium up to 20 mg twice per day plus gaviscon 3 time per day after meal.

You should avoid NSAID drugs , alcohol and smoking.
Hope it was helpful to you.
