Do I Have To Take Higher Dose Of ATORVA 10

Question: Do i have to take higher dose of ATORVA 10 MG and can i stop taking clopidogrel
Brief Answer:
No both are different
Detailed Answer:
Hello
After going through the medical query raised by you I would like to tell you that both of the medications belongs to different group of drugs with different effects and mode of actions so they cannot be substituted for one another.
The role of atorvastatin is to lower down the lipid profile and the role of clopidogrel is to keep the blood thin and prevent clots in blood vessels.
So it’s highly not recommended to increase the dose of atorvastatin and stop clopidogrel.
Kind Regards

dear doctor you have misunderstood my question. what i asked is that since there is a raise in tryglycerides from 2017 level to 180 in 2019 , do i have to increase the dosage of Atorv 10 mg to 20 mg or the present dosa of 10 mg is sufficient.Apart from that i asked whether i can stop taking clopidogrel since i am taking it since two years. i know that both drugs are different.please go through my question once again advise
Brief Answer:
Hello again
Detailed Answer:
With respect sir kindly furnish complete information.
You triglycerides are slightly high and if you are following healthy lifestyle routine like healthy diet and daily morning walks and even then the levels are increasing then you can increase the dose to 20.
For your clopidogrel query may I know the reason why it was started at first place ie is there any history of coronary artery disease or any coronary stents has been placed in past.
Kindly provide details for proper assistance.
Kind Regards

Brief Answer:
Follow-up
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Lipid-lowering medications affect liver function upon long term usage on a high dosage. You can take 20 mg for some time and also stop taking fried items in the diet. Repeat lipid profile after a month and then tapper the dose accordingly.
It's advisable that you should continue taking at least a single antiplatelet drug as advised by your treating doctor as a preventive measure.
Hope to have been helpful.
Kind Regards
