                                            Question : Hi,
i have been suggested to take viral markers of Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C. Please suggest me what is the ideal way to approach for this. Should i need to take an appointment for getting it & which drugs are prescribed for it. I have no idea how to proceed for that.

                                    Brief Answer:
No need for appointment
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.
You have been advised for hepatitis viral markers. Practically there is no such need for a written prescription from a doctor for the tests. You can simply go to a reputed laboratory and request them to run the test.
Yes if the tests come back positive then you will need to see a doctor, preferably gastroenterologist. Treatment for both hepatitis b and c varies. For hepatitis b usually liver tonics like syp liv52 is recommended. For hepatitis c medicines like Ribavarin and Sofusbuvir are recommended and are US FDA approved. Interferons can be used for both infections.
Hope it helps.
