Do I Still Need HIV Tests After 12 Weeks Even After Taking Virotrenz?

Question : I was put on PEP Virotrenz at 24 hrs after a possible low risk exposure
to HIV through fingering vagina of a sex worker ( her status not known) with an abraded finger.
I had completed the 30 day PEP course without missing a dose. My
anitbody/antigen tests were performed with a fully automated
chemiluminescence method at baseline, 6 weeks, and 9 weeks post possible
exposure. All tests came out negative to my relief. my question is
can i rest assured now or do i still need to take another test at 12 weeks?
Brief Answer:
You should take tests at 12 and 16 weeks

Hello
Thanks for choosing wwwhealthcaremagic.com
You must have been started on virotrenz on assessment offairlyhighriskof infection so it is good you are taking this drug. I think it's better to get the tests at12and 16weeks also because the window period is that much more. Next time you should take due precautions .
