Do Medicines For Rheumatoid Arthritis And Fibromyalgia Cause Onset Of New Allergies?

default
Posted on Wed, 1 Apr 2015
Question: Thanks , I have recently been diagnosed with several new allergys: corn, rice, potato, several fish, shellfish, mold, hay fever, and everything that goes with corn. I have rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgis, neuropathy and moderate to severe pain. I had spine surgery about 6 years ago ; have 9 rods and several screws and came out with MRSA. Wondering if all that strong medicines could cause this. Do you have any books or liturature to help me with these things . With so much inflamation, it is hard to know what to put in my body. Appreciate all this. XXXXXX XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Drugs can not cause new onset allergy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
No, drugs can not cause new onset of allergy.
Certain drugs do worsen the on going allergy.
So let me know the drugs, you are taking at present.
Also tell me which symptoms you are having for which you had gone for allergy testing.
For complete review of allergy please refer to Middleton's Allergy, principles and practice.
And if this is allergy then good anti allergic drugs are available. So don't worry much about it.
Reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Start physiotherapy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
In my opinion you should split your pain medicines. Rather then taking in AM only, you should take twice daily.
So discuss this thing with your treating doctor and split the medicines in AM and PM.
Physiotherapy is also beneficial in your case.
So let me know
1. Are you having end stage rheumatoid? Are you having deformed joints?
2. Have you gone through physiotherapy?
Please answer above asked question, so that I can guide you better.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
