                                            Question : Dear Doctor,
During my early teen years i had some steroid treatment for helping to gain weight and height. it was for three months long. I have read online studies that steroids can affect the pituitary-gonadal axis. Is it possible these steroids permanently suppresed my pit-gonadal axis?
Thanks and Regards

                                    Brief Answer:
It won't suppress the axis permanantly
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Short term anabolic steroids wont suppress the pituitary gonadal axis permanently. If you are in doubt you can do an 8 am serum testosterone, free testosterone, LH and FSH and see.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
