Question : Dear Doctor,

During my early teen years i had some steroid treatment for helping to gain weight and height. it was for three months long. I have read online studies that steroids can affect the pituitary-gonadal axis. Is it possible these steroids permanently suppresed my pit-gonadal axis?

Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Short term anabolic steroids wont suppress the pituitary gonadal axis permanently. If you are in doubt you can do an 8 am serum testosterone, free testosterone, LH and FSH and see.
