Question: My son (16) healthy saw PCP last week for permit physical. He received 3 vaccinations(HPV,hepatitis and flu). Four days later (Sunday) had first and only seizure lasting over 4 minutes and then into deep breathing and unconscious for 10 minutes. At ER we discovered lines down entire back blue in color almost look like stretch marks but blue no broken skin. They are still there. What am I dealing with?

Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

According to your description these seizures can well be because of delayed reaction to the vaccines and his developing fever goes in favour of inflammation.

What did the ER people do did they diagnose anything or tell you anything?

I would suggest you to get and EEG and MRI to rule out brain pathology. This will clear up many things.

As you told you have a form of lupus, this usually isnt expected to cause a sudden seizure lupus usually doesn't work like that but yes if you have something in your genes, your son should get worked up for risks.

I would suggest you to discuss matters with your GP in detail.

As far as those lines are concerned they may be bruises during uncontrolled seizures or some inflammed vessels. All these things with your son need a complete detailed checkup and workup. In my opinion there is nothing to wory at the moment , you don't have to panic but yes you should follow up this matter keenly, and as a mother I know you will.

I hope this answered your question, a
if you have more please feel free to ask.

Regrads.
