Question: Hello Doctor,

I have been getting frequent chest pain, it mostly feels like a tingling sensation. This mostly happens whenever I have gastric and acid refluxes. But sometimes the chest pain scares me and gives anxiety. Because there is also some pressure at the work , i feel worried about the health of my heart. Please suggest what should I do. Do you suggest any tests that can rule out any heart related issues?

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
Your chest pain, especially if it is associated with acid reflux, is likely due to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or gastritis, but given your anxiety and work-related stress, it’s important to rule out any cardiac causes.

I suggest you get an ECG (Electrocardiogram) to check for any abnormal heart rhythms, a Treadmill Test (TMT) or Stress Echo if symptoms persist or occur with exertion, and possibly Troponin levels if there is concern about an acute cardiac event.

Additionally, an upper GI endoscopy may help assess acid reflux-related issues.

Since stress can also contribute to both GERD and chest discomfort,
lifestyle modifications, stress management, and dietary changes will be beneficial.

hope your query is clear now. Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
In ECG slight abnormality is there.
I would suggest you to immediately visit cardiologist ,so to get Treadmil test done, to rule out coronary artery disease.
Lipid profile is slightly deranged, which again cause coronary artery disease.
hope your query is clear now. Thank you
