The last week I have been experiencing heart flutters while resting at night. My heart can miss a beat at every two beats, six beats, eight beats, etc., which can last around three hours at a time, sometimes less. I do not get any other symptoms with it. It happens more when I am tired. I don't experience it like this during the day time only the occasional missed beat.
I do have a lot of work on at the moment with some stress. I have experienced something similar like this in the past but only over one or two days. Do you think it may be more related to tiredness and workload?
I would recommend performing some tests:
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I understand your concern and would agree with you on the fact that both physical activity and emotional stress can exacerbate cardiac arrhythmia.
Nevertheless, I would recommend performing some tests in order to investigate on other possible causes that may may cause this clinical situation:
- complete blood count for anemia
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction.
An ambulatory 24 hours ECG monitoring (Holter) would help examine better your heart rhythm trends and determine better the type of cardiac arrhythmia.
Hope you will find this information helpful!
I would be glad to assist you again whenever you need!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri
