Question : Hi doctors,
We have a severe situation with rash, and we need your help and advice.
This rash comes on for a couple of weeks now. First, it started around the neck and shoulder area, then it goes to arm and down torso, then legs. It even goes to eye-lids and lips.
We start taking over-the-counter meds like Claritin and Benadryl, and spray or rub-on cream like Cortizone 10 and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream. We use these to suppress its itchiness.
Do you think that this rash may be related to other causes than being an allergy? Please advise us with your recommendations and your opinion as to what may be the cause?

The other less likely possibility is a connective tissue disease like dermatomyositis or undifferentiated connective tissue disease.
They also present with a rash on trunk area but they also cause systemic manifestations like fatigue, joint pain, muscle pain, fever, mouth ulcers.
