Question : Dear Doctor,
About one and half month ago my husband faced an accident. He slipped on the right hand. Right arm (humerous) bone was broken. He underwent surgery.
I am attaching all the necessary documents along with x ray films
pl go through and revert asap.
My measure quarry is after one and half month also the latest xray report shows the gap between 2 bones and thus
doctor suggested humerus brace and injection Bonista s.c. daily for next 3 months. His hand is not having any pain now, only joint muscles are still tight.
Is this diagnosis appropriate and will the gap heal automatically over the period or do we require to re-operate?

I have read your query, den the attached images and understood your problem.
It looks like there is less stability for the Fracture to heal at this stage.
There is a chance it can heal but that needs constant monitoring.
Ideally another operation needs to be done to remove the plate and put new plate in proper alignment because the bone is angulated now.
Muscles will get thinner and joint may get bit stiff if he doesn't do physiotherapy, so that's important.
A CT scan will show if healing is taking place and that can be considered. If no healing then re-ooeration can be considered.

As there is less healing, surgen now recommended to go for Hermus Brace and Injuction Bonista, does that will help in healing in next 6 weeks? How many weeks we can wait for natural healing? can we wait for 3 months more or that will complicate the matter? As you mentioned the healing will required constant monitoring , does that mean we should take the xrays every 2 weeks and observe? Does existing plate removal is necessary in this case in case of possible healing happening? In case of re-operate does the Graphiting of another bone will be required or just the plate change will work?
