Question : Does ambien affect fasting blood glucose level? I took 1/2 ambien last night and fBG was 119! Not diabetic

Good day,
No, Zolpidem ( Ambien) dosen't affect the blood glucose values. If you have family history of diabetes , or any risk factors for diabetes ( Obesity, high risk race, previous history of diabetes during pregnancy), please get a glucose tolerance test (GTT) and HbA1c. There will be more clarity on the situation after these tests. Please do not worry on just a single value. 119 mg falls in the pre diabetes status and most doctors would like to repeat the test if you do not have any symptoms.
