Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that betablockers like metoprolol, present in cardace meto can be related to erectile dysfunction as an adverse effect.

Besides they reduce the muscular performance of the body, causing chronic fatigue, along with a low heart rate.

While ramipril, which is also present in cardace meto does not affect the erectile function.

So I would recommend continuing therapy with Ramipril with a dose of 50mg daily.

What is your heart rate?

It is not very common to suffer from high blood pressure at your age.

I would also recommend performing some other blood tests (thyroid hormone levels, cortisol and aldosterone plasma levels) to exclude other secondary causes of high blood pressure.

Some modifications to your lifestyle are helpful to maintain a low blood pressure:

- have a healthy diet (low salt and caffeine intake)
- perform a lot of physical exercise
- reduce weight, if you are overweight.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions, whenever you need!

Brief Answer:
You don't need to be treated with beta blockers.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Your heart rate is within the normal ranges. So there is no need of any beta blockers.

So I would recommend to continue with ramipril 50mg or any other ARB class (like valsartan) and consider my advises on further tests to rule out a possible secondary hypertension at your age.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!
