Does Clonazepam Cause Severe Hair Loss?

Question: I am having a problem with my hair - it won't hold curl and just bushes out to a fuzzy look. I just got a new perm, the same as always, and it is still doing it. I have started taking Clonazepam recently and am wondering if it could be the problem. I am also losing more hair (not a lot), but more than usual. I am 82, so mostly grey hair. My hairdresser does not know what it is either.
Brief Answer:
CLONAZEPAM will not cause hairloss.
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.
I can certainly understand your concern.
Hair loss in your case is not related to CLONAZEPAM drug use.
It's advisable to take up a complete thyroid profile to rule out Hypothyroidism, since hypothyroidism is known to cause hair loss at this age.
Avoid heavy chemical treatment to your hair until hairloss reduces.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
