Does Depo Provera Shot Cause Deterioration Of Uterus Muscles?

My daughter had to have a hysterectomy at age 28 due to deterioration of uterus muscles (Muscle Atrophy). She was on the Depo Provera shot for about nine years. Is there any evidence that the Depo shot had anything to do with my daughter's problem. My email is YYYY@YYYY and my name is XXXXXXX Please help me understand what happened here. Thank you.
It could be uterine endometrial atrophy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
Depo Shot has several adverse reactions if used for long term period. However, there is NO such evidence of uterine muscle atrophy.
It could be endometrial atrophy (uterine lining) due to overt use of Depo Shot as birth control and leads to irregular heavy menstrual bleeding (uncontrolled).
In that case, certain hysterectomy may need to perform for the benefit of patient and saving life in young age.
Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for follow up query.
Uterine muscle atrophy is quite UNUSUAL or very much RARE event due to long term effect of Depo-Shot until there was congenital uterine anomaly.
Certain evidence shows that long term effect could be ATROPHIC endometrium or Vaginal atrophy or Chronic endometritis. These could be underlying pathology or fact.
