Does EBV Virus Spread Through Saliva?
Question: Hi..I have the ebv virus. My dr said i have high levels about 2 weeks ago. Yesterday a friend ate after me and i wasn't thinking :( It was just like a bowl of my left overs which i obviously used my fork to eat and then later on he used a different fork...is there a good chance he'll catch ebv ? I feel so bad

This virus spreads through saliva so there are chances that your friend might get the Infection.
Nothing much can be done now. Just ask him to see a doctor in case he gets any fever, swelling of lymph nodes.
Since EBV is a self limiting Infection so in case even if he gets it , it is not essential that he would get the clinical manifestations.

Okay can i ask..my dr said that i have high levels of ebv in my system but my spleen has been enlarged and aching for 3 months..what else could i have if it isn't ebv? She said it is unlikely for ebv to cause enlarged spleen for 3 months.
She said my white blood cell count was on the lower side of normal about a month ago
