Brief Answer:
Will need dose reduction

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you. The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible muscle problem developing that may be causing this. This is a rare side effect and very few people develop it. I would ideally suggest a dose reduction but am unaware regarding the cause for starting the medicine. Therefore, I will suggest that you meet the prescribing doctor and get the dose reduced. Alternatively, try the safer medicines of the statin group.

Since you are on the medicine the following side effect profile should be known to you as well.
This medication can cause gallstones and liver problems eg nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite , jaundice. This drug may rarely cause muscle problems such as muscle pain/tenderness/weakness.serious side effects, including bleeding, infection, chest pain, allergic reaction while rare are known.

I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
