Flavedon MR contains Trimetazidine. It is used as antianginal (Protects the heart from effect of decreased blood supply).
It shift energy substrate preference of myocardium (heart muscles) from fatty acid oxidation to glucose oxidation that is myocardium start using glucose instade of fatty acids for its metabolism which requires decreased oxygen demand and there by low blood supply.
But it has no effect on blood glucose levels. That is it won't causes low blood sugar level.
Though in animal study clinically significant blood glucose lowering effect was seen but not in human study.
