Question : I saw a dr in an urgent care facility and was prescribed flexeril for a muscle strain.
I take 7.5 mgs of remeron at night to help with insomnia. I am concerned about the possibility of serotonin syndrome if I take the flexeril. Is it really safe to take these meds together?

No, it is not safe to use these medications together.

As you stated they both affect the level of serotonin , therefore putting you at risk of the serotonin syndrome.
An alternative would need to be used for one of these medications

Baclofen, XXXXXXX , valium are alternative muscle relaxants that do not increase serotonin levels.

It would be best to get an alternative prescription from your doctor.
