Does GABA Or Tryptophan Interact With Lithium?

default
Posted on Thu, 19 Jul 2018
Question: Hello, I take 600mg of lithium daily and am currently slowly coming off Remeron which is OK with my psychiatrist as I have had horrendous side effects. I am wondering if it would be safe to take GABA or Tryptophan with these. I'm feeling a little anxious. Thank you for your help.

Brief Answer:
Gaba is safe

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern.

Gaba is a safe anti anxiety alternative as it has minimum drug interactions. You can take it along with lithium safely. But please keep your doctor informed about this.

All the best.
