Question : does Gerd cause chest pain and jaw pain I've had a ekg chest xray and blood work done all came back perfect this has been going on off and on since last night burning stomach left arm pain also
Brief Answer:
Yes, GERD causes burning pain in chest
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concern.
Yes, GERD can cause burning pain in your chest. This is because during GERD, stomach acid liquid is going backwards to esophagus which is located in the chest area.
The erosion of esophageal mucosa is giving the sensation of burning pain.
If cardiac tests resulted normal, then its from GERD.
Should follow treatment with antacids, ppis, and diet changes.
Hope it answered to your question.
