Then I went to do a xray they told me i have possible lymphoma. First is the test negative result reliable? Second is the lymphoma might be hiv related? Third is the lymphoma linked to the unprotected oral?
You are free from HIV 1 infection.Prevalence of HIV 2 is very, very rare
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
Oral sex has the least risk for HIV.
1. A Combo test has two parts (so only called as Combo).
One is antigen part P24 antigen for HIV 1 infection.
Second is the detection antibodies against HIV 1 and 2.
By 23 days P24 antigen part is fairly reliable one. So the negative test indicates that you are free from HIV 1 infection.
Antibodies will take time to appear in the body after an infection (window period) 6-8 weeks, sometimes up to 12 weeks. So this part of the test would be reliable after 12 weeks.
2. Lymphoma can occur in HIV, but only after 7- 10 years (after considerable amount of immune deficiency occurs) not earlier than that.
3. Your lymphoma neither related to HIV nor to oral sex.
