Brief Answer:
Ketamine is not known to cause constipation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read all the history of diseases and medications of yours.

Some patients might complain of constipation while on treatment with ketamine hydrochloride but it is not known to cause constipation. You can take laxatives or purgatives like syrup cremaffin plus 3 TSF at a night time for effortless bowel evacuation.

Ketamine has some gastro-intestinal side effects like nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite.

Your treatment for ulcerative colitis(mainly asacol-800 mg) might cause constipation.

can you tell me what is the value of your glycosylated haemoglobin(HbA1C)?

Your treatment for ulcerative colitis is good but it would be advisable that you stop smoking marijuana as could be injurious to health.

If you have any further query then you can ask me.

Thanks and Regards,

My Hemoglobin A1c is elevated to 6.0 according to my hospital discharge papers. So no smoking marijuana even with a vaporizer that heats the THC levels rather than burning it when smoking it? Can I get ketamine prescribed?

Brief Answer:
HbA1C 6.0% is considered as a borderline.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for follow-up query.

Your HbA1C 6.0% is actually a borderline between normal and diabetic individual.

It has more prognostic value rather than diagnostic means a person who is already on anti-diabetic medications should undergo HbA1C test to detect how his blood sugar is controlled for the past 3 months.

If you are suspecting pre-diabetes then you must check your FBS (fasting blood sugar) and PPBS (post postprandial blood sugar). If still results come borderline then you should check oral glucose tolerance test (GTT) further.

Now,If you do not have any problem with ketamine and it is giving good relief then there is no issue to get it prescribed by your physician. It has no effect on blood sugar.

Thanks.
