Does Klonopin Affect The Metabolism Of Alcohol?

default
Posted on Thu, 2 Apr 2015
Question: I drank 6 drinks and a little later (about 1 am) took my regular klonopin. I then took a UA about 10:00 and failed

I had 6 drinks and later took a klonopin for sleep. I took a breath analyzer for alcohol about 10 hours later and failed. Could the Klonopin extend the life of the alcohol causing the failed test?

Brief Answer:
Klonopin cannot extend the life of alcohol!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Klonopin has no demonstrated effects on the metabolism of other drugs including alcohol. It would be very unlikely that it caused the alcohol to build up in your system and be responsible for this failed testing. Alcohol may rather influence the concentrations of klonopin and not the other way round.

I hope this addresses your query fully. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
