
Does Methylphenidate Interact With Glipizide, Lantus, Buspirone, Trazodone, Lorazepam And Remeron?

Question : I am a diabetic taking glypizide 5mg twice daily Lantus Insulin12 units bed time, Buspironne HCl 10mg 1 tab 3 times daily Trazodone 300mg bedtime and lorezepam prn , Remron 15mg 1 tab Bed time . As you can see I am suffering from Deep depression and Insomnia also . My Doctor has prescribed Methylphenidate 10mg twice daily recently to be a stimulant and help me to focus . Having added this Methylpenidate After one application I feel already feel over stimulated . Please advise as what to do because I am not sure if all these medications are working together . I already feel as if falling asleep is getting worse .

I very well understand the predicament you are going through.
From the diabetes point of view everything looks well managed with insulin.
But you are using lorazepam which is a central nervous system suppressant, and a good sedative and anxiolytic.
At the same time you are using methylphenidate which is a stimulant used for keeping awake.
If sleep is a problem I would suggest you to wean out methylphenidate.
