
Does Mirtazapine Have Any Negative Effects On Psoriasis?

Question: I have Psoriasis & have recently gone onto Mirtazapine for Depression & it has done wonders for me, but I am wondering if it feeds the Psoriasis I have.? Normally after I have had a Low period with Depression the Psoriasis get worse for awhile but gets more manageable when I am well again. this time that hasnt happened & the Psoriasis has got worse. I would be so grateful if you have an answer regarding this problem. Thank you in anticipation. XXXXXXX XXXX.

in most cases, mirtazapin does not have any negative effects on psoriasis. More likely the mental condition has a bigger effect on it.
However, if this does not improve at all a switch to another antidepressant (like citalopram or venlafaxine) may be discussed with your local doc.
