Question : Hi my 35 days old baby girl has severe nose blockage n cold she is bt abt to sleep properly doc prescribed mucolite drops dosage 0.6ml is is safe

Mucolite contains Ambroxol which is a mucolytic(thinning of mucus of sputum).Its mucolytic action helps in relieving cough.It is a very safe drug and can be used in any age group.The dose of mucolite drop is 0.5-0.7 ml two to three times a day.

Apart from mucolite drop I would suggest you to put pediatric nasal saline drop one drop in each nostril at an interval of about one minute 4-6 times a day for relieving the nasal blockade.It is also very safe as it contains plain saline preparation.As due to nasal blockage the feeding may get affected,putting it just before feeds helps.
