Does Norvasc Cause Fluctuations In BP Readings?

Question: i was taking 5 mg norvasc at nite and 20 mg of 12 hr propranolol in morning. Was very tired so I stopped both. Now my pressure in the morning is in the range 160+/95+
Then in the evening my BP is much lower140/85 an 138/78
last readings . My nurse cousin is very concerned about the potential consequences of this morning hypertension She thinks I should increase night time Norvasc to ten mg with a physicians approval.Ido not want to revert to a state in which Iam completely exhausted I do have early stage parkinson for which I apply a 6mg Neupro patch daily

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
Propranolol may cause tiredness, but Norvasc doesn't have such side effects. If you have stopped night time Norvasc, just resume it and it will decrease morning blood pressure. If you still take Norvasc but have such blood pressure data you should switch to 10 mg.
Take care

.I had restarted Norvasc at 5 mg at night and will increase that to 10 mg at bedtime if that is the appropriate time. I had experienced some lightheadedness in the past. Will Norvasc contribute to that. Finally, I have urinary problems which require me to self catherize about 3 to 4 times a day . Any complications in that area from Norvasc. Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Take 5mg Norvasc for couple of days, if you still have elevated blood pressure in the morning, then increase the dose to 10mg. There is no contraindications in case of urological problems with Novasc.
Wishing you good health
