Question : Does Olimelt 5mg treat loss of appetite? Can you suggest some good medicine which will increase my appetite?

                                    Brief Answer:
Olimelt is not for appetite.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Olimelt (olanzapine) does not treat loss of appetite.
I generally recommend Buclizine hydrochloride tablet twice in day on empty stomach in my patients which increases appetite.
However,it is a prescription based drug,so you will have to go to a doctor for precription.
Cyproheptadine, tricholine with sorbitol based syrup (brand name heptin-TS) 2TSF once or twice daily also boosts appetite which is available over the counter.
These two medicines are good for appetite, you can try them.
Hope this helps.

Dr.Sandip Kabra
