Brief Answer:
Although information you have is true, but u should not worry unnecessarily

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
It is a wise decision to ask your health related query here.

I being a psychiatrist, purposefully took the opportunity to answer your query, because you appears to be quite anxious and concerned about this illness.

Peyronies disease is a kind of connective tissue disorder of penis. It causes bending and contracture of penis due to scar/band formation inside the tissue. As a result erection becomes painful and sexual act becomes difficult.

The average age of onset is around 40 years. It is more common in Caucasians. Exact cause is unknown but vitamin E deficiency, minor trauma during sex etc are proposed as cause.
Associated with it is depression and anxiety.

But I wonder what makes you so worried. Knowledge about an illness does not mean that you are going to contract that illness. If you experience unreasonable worries regularly, do not feel relaxed, lost your peace of mind and sleep, then you might get benefit with psychiatric consultation.

You may further ask a follow up query for further clarification.

I wish you a stress free life with good health.

So your basically telling me that it's true, that's the worst thing I've heard so far and now I don't think it's even worth living. So your telling me a man can lose his whole penis or 5 inches that's horizon I shouldn't have asked now I don't want to live

And I am seeing a psychiatrist already, here isn't any hope left after you've told me that, I was doing well until I heard these things

I am worried because I have anxiety about the possibility, now I know it's a disease that can take your whole penis you think? 5 inches? There would be nothing left, you have left me with no hope, what's the point in going on now I know this, I can sleep eat or think properly
Thanks very much

I can't I mean, I've lost all hope

Brief Answer:
There is always hope. You will be alright.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX.

Thanks for follow up query.

With analysis of your thinking I could understand that you have a strong belief that you are going to contract this illness and ultimately lose your penis. There is overgeneralisation and tendency to draw a conclusion on selecting a part of information. These are distorted thinking. In my view you require professional help of a psychologist as well as psychiatrist.

Believe me your life will change and you will have a very healthy and comfortable life after therapy.

All the best.

Thanks but you said the information is correct, what information?????, did you mean people can lose 5 inches or so? you are the one scaremongering and your not even a urologist.

I am in treatment by both and medicated, I turned hear to ask about a disease which doesent concern psychiatrists

You have destroyed my hope

And answer my question, there is questions that I have asked that I want answers to. I am in treatment so at's none of your concern

On second thought you are not even a urologist so you are not qualified to give information concerning these matters

You should know better, telling a patient they can lose 5 inches is very harmful, I'm deeply de pressed because of you telling me all this is correct
Shame on you, making people worse of than they came to you

Brief Answer:
You may post another query if not satisfied.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for giving me a little insight.

I want to clear that in this illness, penis gets deformed. But it is not necessary to affect whole of the penis.
Secondly tell me whether you have been already diagnosed with Peyronies disease or it is only your assumption ?

I am sorry that I could not answer as per your expectations. Apparently it happened because you already have made your mind. Finally it is upto you, you may close this conversation and ask another query.

I am still saying that there is always hope.

me-"I have heard the average penis size is around 5 inches, I have heard about people supposedly losing this entire length due to peyronies"

you-"Although information you have is true, but u should not worry unnecessarily"

that is why I am upset, you never explained this comment, it made me assume that all of what I had written was correct, I still am not sure if this is the "information"you were referring to.
I do not have peyronie's, I wanted insight into the condition.

be careful with your words, I am now confused and very depressed, and no one on here seems to answer questions directly and there are allot of contradictions, here-say, and assumptions.

plus you all don't speak English properly, so that makes it more difficult,no offence, you seem like a very nice person and I wish you well.

Brief Answer:
Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX.
Thanks for your observations.
You have given us an opportunity to rectify ourselves.

According to principle of probability you have 99.9 percent chances to remain free of Peyronies disease. The only thing which you should care is that you have to get rid off this thought/doubt that you may contract that illness. If you feel that this intrusive thought is repeatedly coming to your mind against your wish and you are feeling discomfort because of it, then it can be corrected with few psychotropic medicines. The therapy will give you much relief and inner peace of mind.

A man should be progressive and should always thrive for betterment. We as doctors and I personally as a psychiatrist always welcome healthy criticism. Thankfully I got a nice opportunity to interact with you.

Can I ask you a question to understand your thinking process? If yes go ahead.
Tell me a sentence in which the word "because" may be used thrice in continuity.

Brief Answer:
You should continue the psychotropic medicines.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow up query.

Look, everybody will die one day. This is a knowledge. Or you may call it as information. You also know this. But this does not mean that you are dead and you should stop living.

Reality is always different from information. Do not think that a information can decide your fate. It may take a little time to understand my words. But finally the truth is that you do not have Peyronies disease and most probably (99.9 %) you are not going to have this illness in future.

At last the answer of my query: - "YOU CAN NOT START A SENTENCE WITH BECAUSE BECAUSE BECAUSE IS A PREPOSITION". This question was asked by The Great XXXXXXX Vivekanand when somebody commented upon his race that you ****** have pathetic knowledge of English. Later on he himself gave the answer as none in that foreign country could answer his question.

So we should not have prefixed and biased thoughts for persons from other country, race, religion or ethnicity. After all we all are human and we should respect each other.

Thanks again for giving me opportunity to have a healthy discussion with you.
